The Justice Department on August 26 disclosed the disruption of QScan and QTRouter, two proxy platforms it says a China-linked group used to route traffic through hijacked infrastructure while targeting NASA, the Federal Reserve, the Senate, and the Justice Department itself. The attempted NASA intrusion the DOJ cites dates to 2019. The takedown lands seven years later.

The unsealed record does not describe a group caught mid-campaign. It describes infrastructure the DOJ had already mapped well enough to seize, built on access some victims held for the better part of a decade before anyone outside the intrusion set could name the platform routing it. Federal agencies now know QScan and QTRouter existed. They still do not have a public accounting of which of their own systems used them as an entry point, and no disclosure timeline requires one before the next network audit cycle.
